Samhain (November Eve) Ancestral Banquet

  • London, England United Kingdom (map)

As the wheel of the year turns, we gather on Samhain / November eve, to honour our ancestors.

Through communal ceremony, we remember the wisdom of our ancestors, who would have marked and celebrated these seasonal transitions with intention and reverence.

Before the invention of Halloween, a Celtic festival dating back two thousand years was celebrated to honour the dead. It is known as Samhain, and is a reflective time in the year to connect with one’s ancestors. It is also when we enter the dark half of the year in the northern hemisphere.

In this intimate gathering in the darkness, we begin by arriving into our bodies and going on a meditative journey to connect with our ancestors. These can be human, non-human, blood-related and/or chosen ancestors. Through an automatic writing practice, we will connect further with the ancestral guides we have called upon, allowing their wisdom to flow through onto the page.

After this ‘landing’, you will be invited to sit around a banquet table, bringing a favourite dish from your lineage to share (if you wish). Throughout the feast you will have the opportunity to share stories of your ancestors.

We end with a practice of remembering ourselves as future ancestors and calling upon the wisdom of our lineage to come.

This will be an intimate gathering for women with up to 11 spaces available. If you feel called to join, we recommend booking your space asap.
